Rancho Pico Junior High School is part of the William S. Hart Union High School District. The William S. Hart Union High School District is located in the Santa Clarita Valley in the northern part of Los Angeles County. Rancho Pico Junior High School serves approximately 800 students in 7th and 8th grade. Each grade is divided into teams that consist of four core classes: English, History, Math and Science, a Physical Education class and an Exploratory/Elective class. Students rotate through a block schedule with odd classes one day and even classes the next day.

Currently there are three curricular band classes and two curricular string orchestra classes offered. In addition to curricular classes, jazz band is offered as a co-curricular class. There are approximately 130 students currently enrolled in band and orchestra classes.

The success of the band and orchestra program is due to the hard work of the administration, the parents, the community, the educators, and most importantly, the students.
